September 13, 2006 - St Paul, MN -- Aero Systems Engineering, Inc. (ASE) of St. Paul, Minnesota and Pressure Systems, Inc. (PSI) of Hampton, Virginia, jointly announce the transfer of the Model 9046 Temperature Scanner from ASE to PSI. Effective September 1, 2006 all sales, marketing, and manufacturing of the product will be transferred to PSI.
The 9046 temperature scanner was developed by ASE leveraging much of PSI’s NetScannerTM pressure scanner design. ASE’s major innovation was the design of a thermocouple cube, which provides cold junction reference for each measurement channel. The unique design eliminates the requirement for reference calibration and can be configured for either thermocouple or RTD use. PSI supplied a majority of the temperature scanner components to ASE and performed firmware modifications to support its development, including embedded algorithms to convert the thermocouple voltage measurements into engineering units. Until now, the product was sold and produced by ASE at its St. Paul, MN facility.
PSI’s President, Steve Yakshe, points out, “The transfer enables PSI to add temperature scanning to its highly successful NetScanner System while also assuming ownership of the technology. This will allow us to engineer further iterations that provide enhanced functionality while maintaining compatibility with the balance of our NetScanner System.”
ASE's President, Chuck Loux, says, "The cooperative relationship with PSI has been most beneficial to the development of the 9046. We are very proud of the accuracy and stability of the 9046 temperature scanner, and with the overwhelming market acceptance of the product. Transferring the product to PSI opens more marketing channels, places the 9046 in a manufacturing environment that assures the most efficient production, and provides greater potential for continued product development and derivatives."
